Tennis - Case Study
Building a competitive edge on the court
Tennis is one of the most demanding individual sports. There are many hours of practice and matches can last for hours. Piiva has helped tennis players to reach their highest level of play over 10 years.
We began working with Numa Lemieux-Monette, an elite U18 player, in late 2020. Already a great player, we aimed to target three main areas in his game. First was to increase his first serves in and second was to reduce his unforced errors. The last area was to continue to build his focus to enhance him being centered throughout matches.
Numa followed the four-part Piiva program. By the third week, he started to see initial improvements across many areas of his play. By the end of week eight, his first serves in had increased and his unforced errors dropped. As he saw these increases, he began to do extra exercises. These all contributed to him feeling and playing in “the zone” more frequently.
